This page provides instructions on how to set up and manage your email account hosted by Posmay Media.
Please make sure you have received a username (which is your email address) and a corresponding password for each of your email mailboxes. If you haven’t received this information, kindly reach out to our customer support for assistance.
Email Client Configuration Settings
Instructions to configure your email account with your email client e.g. Apple Mail App, Microsoft Outlook, etc.
- Server Type: Select either POP or IMAP (POP will download mail off the server, IMAP syncs emails & keeps the folder structure in sync with webmail). IMAP is recommended, but if you prefer you can use POP.
- Username: Enter your email address – the whole thing including @yourdomain.com as provided.
- Password: Enter the password that was set up for your e-mail account – your password can be changed, see below under mailbox login. If possible always copy and paste passwords.
- Incoming mail server: Enter imap.dreamhost.com or pop.dreamhost.com as your incoming mail server
- Outgoing mail server: Enter smtp.dreamhost.com as your outgoing mail server
- Authentication: Make sure that “My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication” is checked.
- Encryption: Select/enable SSL/TLS for both incoming and outgoing – Secure Password Authentication (SPA) is not supported, so make sure to turn off/uncheck the SPA option for both incoming and outgoing settings
- Ports: For IMAP, set the incoming port to 993 and the outgoing port to either 465 or 587.
Webmail Login
Access your mailbox from any device with an internet connection & browser.
- Visit https://webmail.dreamhost.com
- Login using your full email address & password
Mailbox Login
Change your password, set auto-responders, etc.
- Visit http://mailboxes.[yourdomain] – e.g. If your domain is posmay.com, then it would be http://mailboxes.posmay.com
- Login using your email address & password
Getting Errors?
- Make sure your username and password are correct
- Try changing from POP to IMAP
- Make sure your ports are set correctly
- Make sure Secure Password Authentication (SPA) is disabled
